Level 1 Office Drone
How's that for a D&D character? If you have no idea what the heck am I talking about, you're not geeky enough. :D
Signed a new contract yesterday with another company. Job scope looks much better, ditto pay, and the people over there are actually around my age so it's gonna be easier to communicate. Plus I already know some people inside. Thanks for the invite, Meifang!
My iPod is running at half batt today because of a certain incident last night and I couldn't charge it by the time I got back. Certain to run flat before 1800 today. *coughGJIWantATreatcough*
Edit: Poking around, I stumbled upon Wet²'s blog. It's empty for now but I'll just add it in.
Lining amongst the clouds
Finally a day that I felt I was actually doing something fruitful at work. Today actually went by pretty fast.
Along with Pool winning this morning, me going to hand in my timesheets tomorrow and the weekend around the corner, things are looking pretty rosy.
1¢ every six seconds
That's how much I earn now. Kinda depressing isn't it, both the amount I'm paid and the fact that I'm bored enough to calculate how much I'm earning a second.
I think it's the hair. Syah called it "emo". I'm just sick of having to run a hand through it when the wind blows and messes it up. It's starting to fritz at the ends too. Maybe I'll take a leaf from Don²'s book and chop it all off.
I'll see.
7 working days left. Got offered an extension to my contract today but I turned it down. Administrative
sai kang at shit pay.
No way,
José. Thanks, but no thanks.
Edit: Posted the above in the office this morning, and when I went to check on it couple of minutes later I realised the banner was cut off a little at the top. It looked fine on my own system as I run my screen at 1280x1024. The laptop in the office ran at 1024x768, which I think most of you do. So I clipped a little off so that you guys can get the full picture. Will check again in the office tomorrow. If you guys think my banner looks a little funny in the future, please do pop me a comment or email or msn me.
Prison Break Junkie
Another start to another boring day, nay, week of work. At least on Friday I'll be heading over to Chun Boon's to hand in them timesheets, and finally be paid for all this boredom.
Weekend was a mixed bag, with me staying home all day and Liverpool drawing in a game that they held by the
cojonés. But the good thing was that I started on Prison Break and I simply couldn't stop. Sure, it's littered with glaring mistakes , clichés and Deus Ex Machina, but it's presented in a way that still intrigued and drew me in. I'm lucky I can just pop disc after disc in to unravel the story. I'll go insane if I have to wait week after week to find out what's gonna happen next. I had half a mind to blow off work today to finish whatever I have left. I'll have a long day ahead before I can go back and continue.
Where are thou, 1800hrs?
Locate Wall. Bang Head. Repeat.
Haven't been updating cos there's nothing much to say.
Work's still boring, don't go out much because I'm broke.
GST's being raised to 7%. Whoop dee doo. To assist the poor my ass. I'm poor and I don't see any help. Go tax some rich corporation and leave the people alone. If they can throw money around according to the records I'm looking at, they can afford to be taxed more.
Another Day, Another Dollar
Super shack. Nutshell. Work boring. Time drags on forever. Eyes hurt.
Need weekend.
Shack cannot think
I wanna smack myself in the head. I was updating an excel file all day, and at 1745 I decided to rest 15 minutes before heading home. Clicked the "x" and a dialog box popped up. Without thinking or reading, I clicked "No".
Then it occurred to me. I didn't save.
Gets better. The dialog box was telling me I didn't save and was asking me if I wanted to.
EEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
That's the last time Teddy Bear's picking the movie
Heh. Great weekend. Just came back from an outing with Teddy Bear, Xiao Hong, Shichao, Soh, Ah Chan, Mingrui and Kotek. Heh. Had a ball of a time.
Watched a crappy movie though, The Covenant aka Dragon Ball Z. Teddy Bear's idea. Totally predictable bullshit. I saw "Directed by Renny Harlin" in the opening credits and said "Uh oh" to myself. That's the last freakin' time he's picking the movie. Everybody gave him hell once the lights turned on in the theater. Hilarious.
Liverpool also won 2-0 against Reading. I know they're shit and it was at home, but I'm happy nonetheless after our recent shitty form.
And to round off the great weekend, I FINALLY GOT MY IPOD! I WUV IT! APPLE ROCKS!
Three down, twenty to go
Wanted to post last night, but got too tired.
Bleh. I kinda regret taking this job now. Pay sucks, but that wouldn't make me regret taking too much. I already knew the pay when I took it. What's making me regret is the people, and that they're making me do.
First up, my job scope. It's boring the hell out of me. Photocopying, sorting out the photocopies, and entering the stuff on the photocopies into Excel. I could've done it when I was 12. BOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG. Give me something challenging to do, for crying out loud.
And then the people. All they ever talk about is colleagues and work. I don't know what they talk about 98% of the time. Want to
chup in also cannot. And being someone as socially inept as I am, small talk isn't really my forte. I guess they figure I'm only there for a month, so no point getting to know me. This has got to be the only time I actually look forward to the end of break time and getting my ass back to work. At least time passes faster in my little cubicle. If not for MSN Web Messenger and whomever that bothers to talk to me when I'm online, I'd go insane.
Come every 6pm, a flood of relief washes over me as I hurry to get my ass out of there. When I plonk my ass down on the seat in the shuttle bus, it feels damn
shiok.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend. Something I haven't done since I was a trainee at 160. An oasis in the middle of the friggin desert.
Twenty days more before my contract ends and I get paid. Can't wait.
Xiao Hong gets an honorifical mention here. Yesterday, on his second day of work, he tells me he's typing his resignation letter. Xiao Hong, YOUS ROCK!
